Laboratorios Maverick takes part in CosmoTalks to raise awareness about our impact on the environment
Sustainability sits at the core of the company’s business model
As a company committed to sustainability, we firmly believe it is time to act to protect our planet. That is the reason why we join forces with WeCosmoprof International and we will take part in CosmoTalks The Virtual Series, with the aim of making a meaningful contribution to society and help to reduce our impact on the environment.
Laboratorios Maverick Managing Director Pedro Pérez will talk about the challenges we are facing today, as well as those that will impact future generations at the online session “Sustainability, for Now and for Next”, which will take place on the 17th of June.

Sustainability sits at the core of Laboratorios Maverick business culture and we would like to raise awareness about the importance of implementing it not only as a strategy in the cosmetic industry but also in our daily lifestyle.
With 30 years of experience as a subcontractor to major personal care brands, Laboratorios Maverick leads an ambitious natural transformation, fostering the sustainability of millions of consumer products. The Spanish company is committed to 11 of the 17 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) commissioned by the UN Global Compact. This is also illustrated by the Sedex SMETA certification, one of the most widely used ethical audit formats in the world.
In 2020, we prepared our blowing plant to produce 100% rPET packaging and developed products under the Ecocert Cosmos standards. We successfully carried out the audit to verify our carbon footprint, we were awarded the EcoVadis Gold Medal, which certifies us as sustainable suppliers, and the ISO 50001 certification, which endorses our energy management.
We also achieved IFS HPC Cosmetics certification, which guarantees the quality and safety of cosmetic products, and implemented an alloy to reduce the consumption of aluminium in aerosol containers.
In line with our commitment to minimise environmental impact, we launched new products with a high content of ingredients of natural origin and we are investing in the research of new eco-responsible materials.
Following our objective of promoting circular economy initiatives, we work hand in hand with suppliers to continue reusing the packaging of raw materials and reintroduce them into our production chain.
All these milestones reinforce our firm commitment to a green future. This strategy is based on integrating sustainability into the company’s economic model and extending it to broader areas such as social action.
We will persevere focusing on renewably sourced ingredients, reducing our energy, water, and plastic consumption, promoting zero waste, and recycling post-consumer plastics, which lead us to a sustainable industry 5.0.
